Suzi Luersen

Classroom Floater

Hi! My name is Suzi Luersen. I have been with Good Beginnings School since September of 2019. I am excited to be working with your children. I was born in Pittsburgh and even though I have been in the DC area most of my life, my roots are in “the burgh”.

After graduating high school, I worked for the daycare at NIST (National Institute of Science and Technology). I left there to pursue a career in cutting hair. I used my beauty license to work at Cartoon Cuts cutting children’s hair. I took some early education classes at the community college, however, took time off to have a family.

I am happily married over 22 years to my very supportive husband/father, Ken. I have two sons ages 21 and 19 who are both away at college. Donovan is attending Washington and Jefferson College double majoring in CIS (computer information systems) and music. Brandon is taking classes at NOVA with the plan of transferring to Virginia Tech after he gets his associate degree. He is a biology/chemistry major with a minor in math. I was so fortunate to be able to be a stay-at-home mom and raise my children. I was very active in volunteering with their school/classes over the years, from room mom in elementary school to football mom in high school. I was actively involved with the PTO and chaired the Booster Club having responsibilities for scheduling, recruiting, and managing a $225K budget.

I have such a strong desire to love and nurture children and was so excited to learn of the position in the infant room at Good Beginnings School which is where I started. After the pandemic hit and we reopened, I was moved to the Early Preschool classroom. And now I have the opportunity to help in mostly all the classes where my assistance is needed. I am having such a fun time.

I hope to give the children the love and support that they need while they are away from their parents. I hope to also give our parents the peace of mind and comfort of knowing that their children will be personally cared for while they are apart from them during the day.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. I thoroughly enjoy socializing and meeting new people and love watching any live sporting event.
