special Events

Good Beginnings School offers an excellent balance between work and play.  We believe that meaningful activity in all areas is essential to a well-balanced person.  In addition to a strong academic program, we utilize a theme-based curriculum to further enhance and brighten our days.  We will use the current theme being executed to plan any field trips or arrange for a monthly in-house guest. Every month there is usually something going on in our school! We have had puppet shows, music programs, clowns, and dramatically interactive storytellers, farm animals, reptiles, bugs and other creepy crawlers, magic shows, circus performers, just to name a few!

In January

  • We will be doing our first field trip with our Junior Kindergarten class.

In February

  • We celebrate Valentine’s Day with classroom parties or a school wide carnival!
  • We also participate in an annual contribution for Pennies for Patients to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Each classroom collects all spare change that families care to contribute for a period of two to three weeks.  The class who brings in the most change wins a pizza party!

In March

  • It’s Picture Day time!
  • We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with classroom parties! Remember to wear green!

In April

  • We set aside the third week in April for Parent Appreciation Week.  We value our parents and want them to know how much we appreciate their investment in their children and in our school.

In May

  • We set aside the first week of May for National Teacher Appreciation Week!  We appreciate our teachers and want them to know how very special they are to us!

In June

  • We celebrate our Junior Kindergarten classes graduating with diplomas and refreshments!  This is truly a “Kodak” day!
